- This parade was held in late May to mark the start of the Pleasant Valley Days Rodeo. Newspaper records indicate that the first Pleasant Valley Days parade was held in 1988, though general May Day parades had been held in Houston since at least the 1950s.
- Custodial History
- Print was presumably made from a photo taken by Bill Dungate. It came into the possession of Dino Laramie sometime after Dungate's death and was donated by him to the Museum prior to 2020, along with a large number of other Dungate prints and slides. It was accessioned in September/October 2022.

- This float won first prize in the commercial class in the 1988 parade. Houston Today, June 1st 1988, pg. 7 states that the float was designed to model the local area and was manned by children and forestry employees.
