- Crate is accessed upside down with two leather strapping for hinges. Visible markings can be seen on all sides of crate, they include the following: 'THE TRADE MARK' 'THAT STANDS FOR QUALITY' 'E.D. SMITH' 'WINONA, ONTARIO, CANADA' 'PACKER OF HIGH QUALITY GOODS'. Crate is old and is showing visible signs of rotting, staining and wear. Nails are hammered in sporadically throughout crate. There is a 7cm by 27cm partition on the inside of crate.

- Crate was originally used for shipping 'qualty goods' by E.D. Smith. It seems to have been modified as it has leather strapping for hinges and crate is accessed upside down.
