- History / Biographical
- John was the son of Omineca Herald owner Louis DeVoin. The second man, previously identified as 'Wilmer Bannister' in this record, is most likely Wilmer Lewis, whose sister Irma married Al Bannister.
- Notes
- The aircraft appears to be the 'Alexandria Eaglerock,' owned by Yukon Airways and Exploration. The pilot was John M. Patterson who was delivering the plane to Whitehorse form Denver, CO. Patterson spent time at many small towns on the trip doing barnstorming as a method of raising money to buy gas for the flight. (See Interior News, November 7th 1928.)
A duplicate copy (P0414) identifies the men as Jim and Bill Newton, but this is most likely incorrect due to the provenance of this photo (Bannister family) and an inaccurate date given for P0414 (1958).
