- Archibald Theodore Harrer, originally from Pennsylvania, was active in the mining, lumber, and construction industries around Smithers and Hazelton in the 1920s and 1930s. Along with his cousins the Messner brothers, 'Arch' ran Silver King Mine and briefly operated a sawmill.
