History / Biographical
The Red Hat Society is an international recreational and social organization for women, particularly those aged 50 and above. Its Smithers chapter was founded circa 2005. The leader of a local Red Hat chapter is referred to as the 'Queen'; Pat Scott was the third Queen of the Smithers group, following Margaret Watt and Betty Kennedy.

Item was donated by Karen Coldwell on September 3rd 2022 and accessioned on September 13th-14th 2022 by Museum staff.
