- Description
- A grey-black rock containing the form of a coiled ammonite on one side. The outer most or extruding coil is a rust-brown in color. The surface of the other side is grey in areas and one or two tiny fossils are embedded in the rock. The rock, in the area of the fossil, has been glued in several places.
- History Of Use
- This ammonite is an index fossil for the lower Bzjocian, middle Jurassic, Mesozoic era. Found in the Hazelton area it can also be found locally in the Tenas Creek, Smithers landing, McDonnel Lake and Cronin Creek.
