Description
A large, heavy cast iron red coffee mill, with 2 large flywheels on each side of the grinder and hopper. The hopper has a hinged lid at the back. The grinder is also hinged and secured in front with a bolt and wing nut. Inside the grinder is the wheel that grinds. Between the hopper and grinder, is a leaver that allows the beans to fall through when pulled. Embossed by this leaver is '712 PAT. JULY - 12.98' Under the grinder is a large bin for the coffee. The whole grinder sits on a round frame with 4 bolt holes to secure it in place. Printed on the machine is 'THE ENTERPRISE M'FG. CO. OF PA. PHILADELPHIA, U.S.A.'. The number 2528 is on the inside of the hopper lid.
History Of Use
The 3 main parts are: the hopper, grinder, and the bin. Coffee beans were placed in the hopper. The beans dropped from the hopper into the grinder when the lever was flipped open.
