- The Dayton Scale Company built and marketed its first computing scale in 1891. Item was presumably made between then and the early 1940s, when the first sticker can assumed to have been added.

- A tall green Dayton computing scale, made by The Computing Scale Company (based in Dayton, Ohio). Consists of a lower section upon which objects were weighed, and a cylindrical top with numbers indicating the weight. This top section has circular mirrors at both ends, decorative silver metalwork, and an upper rail with the company name and place of manufacture. The base has a logo of four "Gold Medals," as well as the brand name "DAYTON" in red. There are two stickers from the Canadian Department of Trade and Commerce: one from 1942-1943 and one from 1956.
