- Description
- Cant hook has a modified wooden handle with a brace and large piveting hook on the end. The total length of the handle is 123.5cm with the metal collar attached 19.5cm from the end. The round collar brace has a bolt and nut which attaches the hook. The slightly arced hook is 32.5cm with a sharp point at the end. The cant hook has been modified as there is what appears to be an old license plate wrapped around the wooden handle and jammed under the hook brace for a snugger fit. A large nail has also been wedged in to allow for tight fit. The license plate has vague signs of old black and yellow paint. The corners are bent and there is extreme rust.
- History Of Use
- Cant hook used in forestry for rolling a log. Cant hook appears to have a modified handle made from a large stick that has been shaved and rounded to accomodate the cant hook.
