Description
Light green high back chair. The back of the chair consists of a curved panel with a floral motif. Connected to both sides of the panel are stiles that are round and plain with round finials. Bent brackets reinforce the stiles. The seat is concave near the back and curved on all sides. There are cracks in different areas of the seat. The front legs are turned in a ring design while the back legs are plain and slanted. There are paired stretchers between the legs. The front pair of stretchers is turned in a ring design while the other pairs are plain.

History Of Use
The hope chest was made sometime around 1917, when Josephine Roccia was married to Frederick Sait. The couple lived in New Hazelton. Josephine made dish cloths and tea towels out of flour sacks and kept them in the chest. See bio attached to accession sheet for further info.

Square mirror in wooden frame. On top of the frame is "Broughton & McNeil / General Merchandise / Head Office: Aldermere, B.C.". Along the left side is the text "Groceries / Dry Goods / Clothing / Hardware / Etc. Etc. / Branch Stores: Chicken Lake / Moricetown / Stella". Along the right side the frame reads "Miners' / and / Prospec- / tors' / Outfitting / a / Speciality / Wholesale / and Retail / Meats". Along the bottom it reads "Proprietors / Telkwa Hotel / at Aldermere / Best Food North of Vancouver". Cardboard backing, and a small eye hook at the took for hanging.
History Of Use
Mirror was used to advertise the Broughton & McNeil stores of Aldermere, Chicken Lake (Lake Kathlyn), and Stella. Broughton & McNeil business venture was operated by Lem Broughton and Jack McNeil.

Desk has two 138cm, black, wooden runners on the bottom connected to two cast iron braces for sides with a pivoting brown wooden seat and compartment for books. The bottom of this drawer is missing. The back of seat is a curved wooden structure . There is an additional seat on the front of the desk and an additional drawer compartment on the back for aligning more desks.
History Of Use
Wooden school desk was donated by Louis Schibli of School District No.53. These desks have a drawer at the front and a seat at the back as well as a full seat and work surface in the middle so when an additional desks are aligned with another desk you access the front and back creating more seating and working space.
