- This red blanket is typical of the ones sold by the Hudson's Bay Company that was located in the Bulkley Valley. Blankets like these were used by trappers, hunters, travellers by canoe, dog sled, and by Engineers and Surveyors. Letters from 1981 and 1982 from Ruth Nelson Berry state that the blanket was given to her parents, Edward and Cecilia Nelson in lieu of payment for a room by an elderly prospector who boarded with them in Smithers in 1913. The Nelson house was build on what would become 3719 Alfred Avenue and was still standing in 1981. P1182 features Nelson's wedding photograph.

- Description
- Cylindrical shaped lamp that has a handle with a hook on it. On top of the lamp there is a spout with a round concave upright disk that measures 7.5cm in diameter. On the opposite side of the spout is a small disk that opens and closes, but is fastened from the inside. Although a small handle is situated behind this disk, part of it extends just above the disk. The handle turns either left or right. The larger handle with the hook extends from the top down to the bottom of the lamp. It is also more angled to one side than the other. The handle and the lamp appear to be in two parts but the handle is hinged together by screws which are holding the lamp together.

- Gold metal carbide lamp. "GUY'S DRIPPER" on the top. Has a metal hook that swings from "ON". Black rubber on bottom with "BUMPERGRIP" and other text.
- History Of Use
- The Guy's Dropper is a widely used carbide lamp. It has carried an outstanding reputation through most of it's production. Guy's Droppers (often referred to just as "Droppers") were well made and kept a consistent production through most of the life of the company. Most notable was the excellent drip mechanism which has been recognized as one of the better drip mechanism of all common lamps. The valve allows for easy cleaning and very precise control of the drip rate. Unfortunately when the valve sleeve becomes worn, the drip rate is harder to control. Also, it is noteworthy that later Droppers were made of a thinner grade of brass, leaving the lamp prone to stress fractures. The Guy's Dropper design was loosely copied by Butterfly.
