Description

History Of Use
Metal ladle used for serving liquids. Presumably this ladle was used on the O'liarney farm. Pete and Lottie O'liarney settled in the Bulkley Valley in 1929 and farmed near the Telkwa High Road until 1972. Ladles such as this one can be seen in 1902 Sea

History / Biographical
Established as an experimental substation in 1938 and an experimental farm in 1955. Located on the old Sproule Farm between Smithers and Telkwa. The directors were W.H. Hicks and K. McBean, and the farm provided information on the major agricultural problems of the area.

Description
a) A small, upright bottle with squared sides, made of thick clear glass. The sides have slightly rounded edges, and there are two, fine seams opposite each other. Near the top, the body rounds, then narrows slightly and joins a thick, wide lip. Around the inside of the lip is a narrow ledge, slightly recessed from the top. This is designed to hold the cardboard cap. The bottom of the bottle has press marks. It holds one pint. b) The small, round cardboard cap is blue and white. It has a small, rounded pull-up tab near the center that is reinforced at the bottom of the tab with a single staple.
History Of Use
Glass milk bottle with paper pull-tab lid. Presumably bottles such as this one would have been used in the Telkwa Creamery which operated from 1939-1969.
