On March 8th 1991, Chief Justice Allan McEachern of the B.C. In response, Indigenous spokespeople appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada, eventually resulting in the Delgamuukw ruling of 1997, which gave the first comprehensive confirmation of Aboriginal title in Canada.
