- The vehicle is the Packard truck which Wiggs O'Neill used as a taxi. Wiggs was born in 1882 in Barkerville, BC. He founded the Smithers Garage in 1918 and also owned the town lighting system and a movie theatre. He had two sons, Bill and Mike and he died in 1964 in Smithers. His wife was Marion Steele. Wiggs OÕNeil wrote a lot of stories about the days of the building of the GTP Railway, the stern wheeler ships on the Skeena River, and his days as a small boat operator. Many of his stories are published.
