1997.51.18a: A black and silver case with a black leather handle on one end and a silver metal handle on the other. One silver side is blank; the other has 'Genco Stropper" engraved below the rectangular opening above it.The opening is for inserting the blades into for sharpening. 1997.51.18b: Is a long silver metal referred to as a "Universal Holder for safety razor blades" 11.4cm long, with two 2cm flat pieces attached at either end. The back of the long piece is rounded with the two flat pieces at either end. This would be used for inserting the blades into the stropper. 1997.51.18c: is a grey flannel bag 15cm x 13cm drawstring bag which the stropper fits into. Inside the bag is a long narrow pocket which the stropper holder fits into. 1997.51.d is the instruction booklet for the Genco Automatc Stopper. Directions for Stropping all Razors and Blades. a: Large black ornate Singer sewing machine set into a wooden base. Floral design with one or two precious stone-like objects set into black metal. Has a large gold seal on the the body of the machine with some German writing and a large ornately designed S.It is hand cranked and a has a large handle with a wheel that controls the sewing mechanism. The machine is part a. b: The wooden base has a large wooden lid. This covers the entire sewing machine and is well made. c: The main part of a detached silver coloured case handle. It has an ornate design. d: A part of the handle which attached the part c to the case. Second part of this item is part l. e: A pressure foot for the sewing machine. f: Shuttle with thread inside. g-h: Two silver needles. i: Bobbin with a little bit of dark thread. j: Small screw. Likely part of handle. k: Spool of green thread. l: A part of the handl which attached part c to the case. Other part of the case is part c. m: Black button. n: Metal washer. o: Metal washer. p: Black button. q: White button. k & m-q could be argued as seperate accession numbers because they are not directly a part of the machines workings but we have accessioned them under the same number because it shows that the machine was used fairy recently before it was donated to us.
Inscriptions
On the inside of part b: there is a 'B' etched on the top between the two handle holes and on the small ends of each piece. The numbers '33186 / 33345'.
On the seal above the 'S' is the following: "Vor Nachamung" Below the seal is the following: "Geschützt".

Description
The object has a hard leather case with retrackable cloth tape. Leather case is brown and the stitching is starting to separate. There is a brass knob on the top which is secured by a brass screw which threads through from the bottom of the case. The tape has a 12.8 cm piece of 1.5cm wide leather strap hand sewn onto the beginning of it and has a brass tab on the end. Fabric measure has some numbers visible but is quite worn. "Hockley - England - Abbey" is inscribe on the top. 66 Ft, No. 260 is stamped on top of brass knob.
