A small, grey lantern with a wire frame. Heavy grey wire is bent around the globe and front, forming the lantern's stand and a protective cage for the globe. A long wire handle is attached at the shoulders of the cage. There is a short wire lever with an oval end on one side of the base.
The grey metal top of the lantern is hinged on one side of the frame and fastened to the other side by means of a metal clip which is riveted to the shoulder of the ventilator. The top features a dome vent which has three rows of holes encircling the top. Embossed on the shoulders below the vent is "C N R" (on one side) and "MIRAM L. PIPER CO. LTD" (on the other). The bottom of the vent, which fits over the globe and holds it in place, also has ventilating holes.
The round, clear glass globe has a seam on either side. The metal piece inside the base of the globe reads "USE LONG TIME BURNING OIL ONLY NO 400"
The base of the lantern is deep, with a slightly rounded bottom. It has ventilating holes around its side. There is a small hole at the center of the base with " (?)..CA..CA"showing around it, (possibly 'Made in Canada") Embossed on either side of this is "ADLAKE-KERO" and "PATENTED".

There is an arm for the film reel, and a silver plastic control panel, with a dial for framing and a dial for elevating. The lens control is beside the control panel and it is a red lever. Below that there is a dial that says: off, rewind, and eject. It has a detachable hinged back. Inside it has a projector bulb. The back is almost entirely a vent, with a cavity that holds the long black power cord.

Post office sign is a rectangular metal sign with a porcelain face. The center of the sign is arched slightly. In the center is 'POST OFFICE' in large purple letters. Near the top is a light blue crest. The crest consists of a circle with four sections and flags half way around the circle. On the border of the circle is 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE'. On the outside of the circle is lion on one side and a unicorn on the other. The bottom of the crest has a ribbon with 'DIEU ET MON DROIT' inside it.

This projector play a rollin keeping the family history alive within the family. Enjoying hours of entertainment viewing slides from wilderness areas. Murray McDonald bough it in kamloops in approx 1979. Moved to Smithers in 1980

This ring is raised 5cm from the rest of the lantern. The body of the lantern is a blue metal cylinder with a large round handle which is covered with thin rubber. The handle attaches to the lantern at each side of the cylinder. The lantern stands on the metal rings extending from the edge surrounding the bulbs. Inscribed on the blue dome top is a star and the words 'STAR H_A__IGHT LANTERN CO.' 'Tucker' is scratched into the side.
