This rifle is a Mod.1903 .22 CAL. Automatic Winchester rifle. It has a button on the butt end of the stock, which turns to pull out for loading. On the right side of the stock is an opening for inserting bullets. It has plain open sights on the top of the barrel, a small safety button just behind the trigger and an action rod protruding from the front end of the stock. The main stock of the rifle is badly cracked apart and has been taped together with some sort of black tape.

This rifle was made in 1903 by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Winchester rifles were patent in 1901.

There are tow hammers visible. Between the hammers is a piece of metal that swivels. When the pice of metal is swiveled to one side it allows the gun to be opened for reloading. 'WH HAMILTON' is inscribed on the side of the gun.
