Wooden, ceramic figurine. The base is rectangular and wooden. The front consists of six wide steps with two flared cylinders on the top step. These cylinders are removable and are marked b) and c) of this item. The top portion is a ceramic figurine of a man sitting cross-legged with his hands together on his lap. His robe is a dark gold color. On the front of the platform is a white and black label with indecipherable lettering. Inscribed on the bottom is "GERMANY" and part of an orange label that is indecipherable.

Small fire engine figurine made entirely of glass. It is hollow and has ladders on each side, a raised hood, and the words: "FIRE DEPT 12" on the roof. The glass is slightly textured all over, except on the roof of the vehicle where it is smooth.

Unframed scenic oil painting on art board. Image depicts trees on a hill near a river with mountains in the background. No description of the setting is provided, but it's possible this is somewhere along the Skeena or Bulkley rivers. On the back is information about the art board manufacturer.
Anna Schufer is referred to as "Mrs. P. Schufer" in the Museum's records. The 1921 census indicates her name was Anna. BC Archives search shows a marriage between an Annie Look and a Peter Schufer in 1901 in Vancouver, so it is possible her name was Annie.

History Of Use
Plaques on the painting indicated it was presented to the Village of Smithers on its 50th anniversary (1971) by the BV Picture Loan Association.
Interior News, June 26, 1963, Painting Exhibit will Be Feature of Jubilee:
"A number of paintings by pioneer and later residents of the Smithers area. ... The official opening will be held at 7 p.m. July 1st, at which there will be brief ceremony including the presentation to a representative of the village council of a portrait of John Ritchie McIntyre, first chairman of the incorporated village of Smithers. The painting was done from a photograph of the late Mr. McIntyre by Gerard Hamming, a local artist."
