According to the Sullivan article, the wording on glass surfaces was not altered between the late 1870s/early 1880s and 1920. Bottles marked in the same manner as this artifact are seen in both hand-blown and machine-made bottles.

History Of Use
In Canada, Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil was introduced by Northrop & Lyman of Newcastle, Canada West in 1871. They had an agreement with proprietor Dr. S.N. Thomas of Phelps, New York to manufacture the medicine and sell it in bottles under their own name. Northrup & Lyman moved to Toronto in 1874. Eclectric Oil was an all-purpose internal and external family remedy for man and beast.
