History Of Use
Used by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and/or Canadian National Railway, circa 1920s. It was recovered from a scrap metal heap near a cabin/workshop that was associated with the Walcott CN station.
Round cylindrical Magic Baking Powder Tin. Intact with purple and yellow coloured label and recipes. "baking powder" crossed out and masking tape was placed over "Magic" and has "1 1/2 Nails" hand written on it. Lid has "nails" hand written in black marker.

There is a finished red wood handle, which holds a thick metal dryer head, part of which is circular which contains the electric components including an on/off switch and a hot/cold switch. Coming off of the circular part there is a tear-dropped shape metal piece, which the air comes out of. The fan casing has a circle of largeer holes, and within that a circle of smaller holes. It is 215 watts, 110-120 volts, and has 50-60 cycles.

Leather hand sewn wall packet made by First Nations from Babine area (from Angus McLean residence in Smithers - more info from Pat McCammon). A beautifully made leather wall packet with two embroidered pockets. The embroidery is a series of moon, stars, pinwheels and either leaves or butterflies. The latter have brown beaded outline with a matching single line of brown beads along the top of the pocket on the bottom pocket. The top pocket is finished with a line of straight stitching. The whole packet is lined with white cotton with three lines of beads across the top of the inside flap. The second line of beads appears to have a 3cm trim of ribbon underneath the beasding. A brown crossgrain ribbon rossette is attached to both of the top inside corners. The whole packet has been outline in what appears to be a couching stitch 1.5cm from the edge.
