Description
a) A round leather box witha cardboard liner. It has a drawstring closure laced through the leather of the box with a leather tassel on the end. The outside of the bag is decorated with a picture of the head of an Aboriginal in a headdress. Beside this are the initials "A.M.L." Beside this is a picture of several tepees and "COLLARS". The leather extends above the cardboard lining and has a scallopped pattern on its edge. b) A stiff white collar with "TRADE MARK ARROW CLUETT PEABODY & CO. CANADA DORSET CLUPECO SHRUNK 16" written on the inside in black ink. c) A cloth collar that is white on the inside and speckled blue with brown stripes on the outside. Written on the inside is "16 1/2". There are three button holes spaced out along the bottom of the collar. d) A cloth collar that is white on the inside with blue stripes on the outside. There are three button holes spaced out along the bottom of the collar. e) A stiff collar that is white on the outside with black stripes on the outside. Written on the inside is "Forsyth HAND MADE PRE-SHRUNK PILOT TO BE STARCHED 2060-17" in black ink. There are three button holes spaced out along the bottom of the collar. f) A stiff collar that is white on the outside with black stripes on the outside. Scarf belongs to a set called "Lady Elegant Glove and Scarf set", c.1950s. Possibly purchased by Lorraine's mother, Elsie Custison (nee Green). It was never used.

Anna Schufer is referred to as "Mrs. P. Schufer" in the Museum's records. The 1921 census indicates her name was Anna. BC Archives search shows a marriage between an Annie Look and a Peter Schufer in 1901 in Vancouver, so it is possible her name was Annie.

Description
Long buckskin gloves with a flower and butterfly design on the front, done in glass and plastic beads. Colours used are white, brown, blue, green, red, clear, and pink. The tops of gloves are wide enough to cover the bottom of a coat sleeve. The tops of the gloves were cut with a 'pinking shears' for a finished look and lined with a grey fabric lining. There are fringes down one side of the gloves (on the top half).
History Of Use
Request sent to donor for more info. Donor is the daughter of Olaf Hanson. Olaf Hanson 1882-1952. He was born in Sweden and arrived in Canada in 1907. He pioneered the north, formed the Hanson Lumber & Timber Co which made & sold railway ties and cedar poles, he was a MP in the Skeena for 15 yrs, was a Swedish consul and a member of the International Fisheries Commission. Description
Framed painting of J. McIntyre, first Chairman of the Smithers Village Council in 1921. It has three small square metal plaques mounted to the frame. The painting is signed in the top left corner "G. Hamming 1963"
History Of Use
Plaques on the painting indicated it was presented to the Village of Smithers on its 50th anniversary (1971) by the BV Picture Loan Association. Interior News, June 26, 1963, Painting Exhibit will Be Feature of Jubilee: "A number of paintings by pioneer and later residents of the Smithers area. ... The official opening will be held at 7 p.m. July 1st, at which there will be brief ceremony including the presentation to a representative of the village council of a portrait of John Ritchie McIntyre, first chairman of the incorporated village of Smithers. The painting was done from a photograph of the late Mr. McIntyre by Gerard Hamming, a local artist."
