Description
This item is a wooden rod, measuring 91.5cm long. It is made up of three short wooden rods bound together with brass bindings. Two of the brass binding have 'B.G.I.Co. Pat. Feb.9.92' engraved on them. One end of the rod has grips carved into it for a handle, the other end has a small round cloth covered end attached to it.
History Of Use
This ram rod was patented on Feb.9.1892. This type of item was used for loading muskets with gun powder.

It then narrows then starts to widen out gradually, only to change again, ending in a triangle. The last 2/3rds have carved lines and geometric design. The design is the same on both side.
