Anna Schufer is referred to as "Mrs. P. Schufer" in the Museum's records. The 1921 census indicates her name was Anna. BC Archives search shows a marriage between an Annie Look and a Peter Schufer in 1901 in Vancouver, so it is possible her name was Annie.

A long narrow "V" shaped metal rod with a wood handle. Metal rod is 55 cm long and wooden handle 10.5cm long. Wooden handle is secured to metal rod with a wide metal band. The word OUZY is marked on one side of the rod just above where it is inserted into the wood handle.

Description

History Of Use
Sign from circa 1890s for the Dominion Telegraph system. The donor`s father, Les Buchanan worked for the Dominion Telegraph. Found during the dig of the highway building in 1979. The sign was done with old grease pencil. This rubs off like charcoal.

Massey Harris was founded as Massey Ferguson in 1847 in Newcastle, Ontario by Daniel Massey. In 1879 the company relocated to Toronto and was renamed Massey Manufacturing. In 1891, Massey Manufacturing merged with A. Harris, Son & Co. Ltd to become Massey-Harris Limited and became the largest agricultural equipment maker in the British Empire.
