This plane is one of 3 donated by Angus Kerr; 1971.52.3 a-c
History Of Use
Mr. Angus Kerr settled in the Quick area and began farming. Kerr road is named after him. He passed away in Oct.94. No other information available at this time. This is one of the 3 different moulding planes donated by him. This plane is smaller than the other two. It is called a Hollow or Fork Staff because it has a groove beside the hollow and the blade is forked. These type of moulding were used to define the ceilings from the walls and for trim on other things.

One of the 3 moulding planes donated by Mr. Angus Kerr. This plane has a small crown shape. The fence on the side kept the plane going straight. More commonly used for chairs, wall trim or areas that required 'fancy' trim.

History Of Use
One of the 3 molding planes in this series, donated by Mr. Angus Kerr. A well equipped carpenter's chest often had twenty or more moulding planes. This nosing plane is used to cut the half-round fronts of stair treads, and closet rods. This plane could cut full rounds from any shape or size of wood.

Description
A carbide miner's lamp consisting of a reservoir for holding fuel (A) that screws into the main part of the lamp (B). The reservoir has screw threads at the top and a rubber 'O' ring to seal it. The main part of the lamp has a large circular reflector, inside which is a spigot for releasing the fuel and a flint. On the top of the main part of the lamp is a flip top lid for refueling and a piece of wire that swivels. Inscribed on top of the lamp is 'Guy's Dropper/On/Off/Pat. 5-2-12 5-26-14 9-19-16 11-2-20 2-10-25 7-21-25'. Inscribed on the bottom of part A (resevoir) is MANUF'D BY/ SHANKLIN MFG. History Of Use
Miner's carbide lamps were a great advance over oil lamps and candles. this type of lamp in common use by 1905 provided a bright light. It was also much safer and healthier for the miners as it did not produce any carbon monoxide and very little carbon dioxide

Glass insulator, with what we believe is the patent number embossed on it. Has Pyrex Made in the USA embossed on the other side. Has two bulbous ends and a ridged middle section. Radio strain insulators are used to insulate either end of a wire antenna from the tower or other mounting hardware.

Bolsward refers to a city in the Netherlands, located in the north-western province of Friesland. This province is known for its skating culture.‘G.S. Ruiter’ refers to the name Geert Stevens Ruiter, a successful skate manufacturer whose company produced skates from 1889 to 1970; this particular blacksmith mark places the skate manufacturing date somewhere between 1901 and 1940. The Ruiter brand was not only popular amongst the public but also amongst the Dutch royalty.

Description
Two ice skates, wood base with inset metal blade. The wood base is wider where the skater's foot would sit, and then becomes more narrow past the toe. Each skate has a leather strap at the ankle-end that would secure the skater's ankle. The strap has metal components (ring, eyelet) that would have made it adjustable. There is a second set of adjustable leather straps at the toe of each skate. Each skate is stamped with G.S. RUITER, BOLSWARD. The skates are known as the "Friesland" style.
