A round-shaped bronze pendant 2-1/2 cm across with an enamalled face in white with a large red cross in the centre. Around the white face is a narrow blue band with the words "American National Red Cross Nurse" written in gold. Surrounding the enamel work is a design of gold leaves. On the back of the pendant is written 1653, BRONZE & B.B. + B.PHILA. We think this was once a pin that was made into a pendant as you can see the places on the back where the pin apparatus was.

History / Biographical
Houston resident Red Miller was a WWII veteran and a 16-year member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 249. This military showcase was commissioned in his honor after his death in the early 1980s. It was built by Bob Anderson and Harry Schindel, and featured artifacts and photographs lent by local servicemen, veterans, and their family members, as well as a list of deceased veterans and other members of Branch 249.
Custodial History
Negative was taken by Bill Dungate on or around November 11th 1984 and donated to the Museum on August 12th 2021 by Dino Laramie.
