Huckleberry Mine, located 88 km southwest of Houston, was an open-pit copper mine which began construction in 1996, officially opened in 1997, and closed down in August 2016.
Custodial History
Photo was taken by Interior News staff or contributed to the Interior News for publication in the paper. It was retained by the Interior News until being transferred to the Bulkley Valley Museum, likely in 2007, as part of a large donation of photographs, negatives, and textual records. Item was stored in Room 6 until being found in collections and accessioned in Fall 2020.

Amy (Maisie) Campbell-Johnston Hurley is the daughter of Ronald C. Campbell-Johnston. At one point Amy Armytage-Moore, Amy remarried to Thomas Francis Exaviour Hurley. She passed away in North Vancouver, BC, on October 3, 1964.

History / Biographical
Ronald C. Campbell-Johnston was born September 18, 1863 in England to Robert Alexander Campbell-Johnston and Frances Palliser. He was married to Amy Ellen Chadwick Merry and had a daughter Amy Campbell-Johnston, born November 27, 1886. Around 1989, Campbell Johnston and his family immigrated to Canada to work as a geologist in mineral exploration, providing reports on mining and mineral claims for various claim holders. Campbell-Johnston passed away October 29, 1929 at the age of 66, in Vancouver, BC.
