- History / Biographical
- R.W. Calderwood Agencies was founded in 1939 by Roy Calderwood, who had purchased a small business that dated back to 1914. It originally offered both real estate and insurance services including life, fire, accident, and even war insurance (the last during World War II). Following Roy’s death in 1953, his wife Marge ran the business until 1979, when she split it into two separate branches. The insurance branch was managed by Mary-Alice Finch and became part of Bulkley Valley Insurance in 2006. The real estate branch, managed by Charlie Northrup, became Calderwood Realty and is still in business today.
