- History / Biographical
- The Bulkley Valley Players Club (BV Players) was formed by Marjory and Tadek Then in 1959 with the goal of educating members and the general public in the art of amateur theatre. It held drama workshops and typically performed two full-length plays each season, as well as at special events such as Smithers’ 50th anniversary celebrations in 1963. The first incarnation of the Club folded in 1968. It was briefly revitalized by Ray Garford in 1974 but dissolved after he left Smithers the following year. The Club's third and longest incarnation lasted from 1984 until 2004. The latter two versions of the Bulkley Valley Players were part of the Bulkley Valley Community Arts Council. (See Finding Aid for further detail).
