Notes
The Village of Smithers' water pumping station at Riverside Park was destroyed by fire on Friday April 8 1966. The Interior News of April 13 1966 reported that the fire was believed to have been caused by the electrical system, and cost around $40,000 to the building housing the pumps and the equipment itself. The pumphouse fire and desctruction of the Bulkley River bridge over the same weekend led the Village of Smithers to declare a state of emergency on Tuesday April 12th 1966. Lyle Angman took the photos of the pumphouse approximately a week after the event.
