"Motorcyclists chart new proposed Alaska Highway
Smithers, British Columbia. Clyde C. "Slim" Williams, left of Adventures Club, Chicago, Ill., and John [L?] Logan, right, of Pittsburgh, PA, 1410 miles of almost unbroken wilderness behind them, leave here for Vancouver, B.C., on the next to the last lap of their cycling back through Alaska. The two men left Fairbanks, Alaska, in their motorbikes on May 14. Nearly six months was needed to traverse the 1410 miles, during most of which they broke trail. From Vancouver the adventurers will head for Washington to give a report on conditions of the proposed route for the Aslaskan Highway. (BU) 11-22-39"
