History / Biographical
This was Olof Hanson's ice harvesting camp at Lake Kathlyn. They used a "Donkey Engine" to pull the ice from the lake. The blocks were stored in ice houses and shipped on the GTP to places like Endako, Jasper, and Prince Rupert. They cut the ice in February and there was a crew of about 12 men, Jack Chapman being one of them.
