- History / Biographical
- Marks on the Forest Floor was published by the Houston Centennial '71 Committee to mark the 100-year anniversary of B.C.'s entry into Confederation. Compiled and edited by Elnora Smith, it contains recollections and photographs of Houston's past, primarily from a settler perspective. A community banquet/ceremony was held on October 23rd 1971 to officially launch the book and to honour 'old-timers' in the community. An updated and expanded edition, titled Marks of a Century, was published in 2000.
