History / Biographical
William 'Bill' Dungate (1909-1993) lived most of his life in and around Houston, B.C. He played a key role in preserving the area's pictorial heritage, both through his own photography as well as by the collection and restoration of historic photographs.
Custodial History
The photographs, prints, negatives, and slides in this fonds were all created, collected, and/or reproduced by Bill Dungate during his lifetime. They were donated to the Bulkley Valley Museum by Dino Laramie both pre-2020 and on August 12th 2021.
Scope and Content
Series contains over 600 negatives, prints, slides, and photographs depicting Houston, its people, and its enrivons from the early 1910s to early 1990s.

Items are numbered in the order in which they were processed.

Notes
Not all of the original donation (1000+ photos) has been retained. Of those kept, only those with identifiable context and relevance to the Museum’s mandate were selected for scanning and accessioning into the database. Additional and unidentified negatives have been retained (see file list).
