Hooper discusses her family's history & association with the town of Cawston; growing up as the middle child of five siblings; and moving around during her childhood due to her father's job.

Hooper came to Smithers in 1965 at the age of 7. She discusses topics related to her childhood in town, such as attending Muheim Elementary and Chandler Park Schools, where in town her family lived, the expansion of Smithers since the 1960s, and the destruction of the Bulkley Bridge by ice (on Good Friday, April 1966).
