- William 'Bill' Morley McAloney (1920-1993) moved to Smithers with his family in 1953. He worked as a locomotive engineer on the Canadian National Railway for 35 years and served as a local and national representative for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. McAloney later served as an alderman and Deputy Mayor for Smithers in the 1970s and 80s.

- Item was found inside a book, "Uniform Code of Operating Rules for the Canadian National Railways, etc." in the Museum's reference library on January 14th 2022 and added to the discrete item collection the same day. Book had belonged to W.M. McAloney.
