- Ellen Bennetts Collison (1915-2005), originally from Saskatchewan, came to Smithers as a nurse in 1940 and worked at the Bulkley Valley District Hospital until her retirement. She married Reg Collison in 1944 and had two children, Brian and Moira. She later moved to the Comox Valley where she passed away.
