- History / Biographical
- Sarah "Nan" Bourgon (nee Capewell) was born in Derbyshire, England on March 18, 1881, the second of seven children. She emigrated to Canada in 1911, joining her sister Florence in Vancouver; she moved north to find work in Aldermere, where she met and married Joe Bourgon in 1915. The couple developed a farm and had two children: Antoinette ("Tona") and Arthur.
