- Description
- Flexible metal wire tongs. These tongs consist of one piece of wire that has been shaped into tongs. One end of the tongs is coiled once then flares out to form the sides. These pieces then cross over each other to form loops where the wire ends. The ends of the wire were soldered but are now broken. When the sides are compressed together the loops flare out to the sides.
- History Of Use
- Flexible metal wire tongs used to hold a small metal pot over a flame. Presumably these tongs were used at the Telkwa Creamery which operated from 1939-1969. The tongs held a pot which was heated over a flame in order that the moisture content of the butter could be measured.
