- History Of Use
- The Smithers Pontiacs baseball team played in the Northwest BC league for four seasons from 1961 to 1964. According to the Interior News they played their first game in May 1961, wearing white uniforms with red piping, red caps, and red and white sox. They won the championship in 1961 (the first year the league existed) under the guidance of Coach Gordon Dilling and team captain Bill Kilpatrick. According to Sept 27 1961 edition of the Interior News, 2nd base was played by Gary Herman.
