- History Of Use
- The Hudsonettes were a women's softball team from Smithers that played in the Interior Softball league. The team was sponsored by and named for the Hudson Hotel. First mention of the team in the Interior News is September 1950, which notes the team was in the playoffs against the Quick "Farmerettes". In a search of the Interior News, no mention of the team appears again until 1954 and 1955, unclear whether the team continued to play during the intervening years. Other teams playing in the league in 1954 were the Bulkley Hotel Broncs, High School Snappy Nines, Smithers Drug Store Pill-Pushers, Smithers Garage Paddys, and the Telkwa Ramblers.
