- Description
- An intricate Stanley metal plane with a wooden handle, knob and plane guide at the very bottom. 45 STANLEY AND TRADE 45 MARK '45' are stamped in three places on the metal part of this side of the plane and is attached to the wooden guide on the basel. There is also "8" stamped above the '45' on this side .'No. 45' is stamped on the opposite side of the plane. "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO..PAT. MCH 11. 84 & JAN. 22. 95' is marked towards the back of the smooth metal guide and above the wooden base. The plane itself has 2 long round metal rods extending to one side with a handle shaped loop between them. One rod has a round wooden knob on it and the opposite rod does not. The plane blade is mountd to one side of the 'loop' & is secured in place with a screw at the top and a back brace at the bottom. Various screws are used to adjust the level of the cut. The wooden handle at the back is for guiding the plane through the cutting.
