Description
A wooden butter mold with two parts. a) The first part has four flat wooden sides with no bottom. Attached to the four pieces of wood is a piece of wood that forms a top with a hole in the middle. b) The second part is a piece of wood with a wooden dowel fitted in the middle. On either side of the dowel there is a screw set into the flat piece of wood. The dowel section fits through the hole in the other section and can be raised up and down by pulling on the dowel. The dowel is 4.2cm long.
History Of Use
Wooden butter mold used on the farm to form blocks of butter. After churning, butter would be placed into this mold in order to set. The formed butter could easily be removed when set by pushing on the dowel(plunger) portion.
