D11651' 'YOU MUST USE ONE PINT OF S.A.E. 40 OR 50 LUBRICATING OIL PER GALLON OF GASOLINE. A HIGH GRADE WILL INCREASE THE LIFE OF YOUR WOODBOSS' 'POWER MACHINERY LIMITED' 'VANCOUVER, CANADA'. Chainsaw has an 86cm bar with six 7.5cm diameter holes through it, side by side.
- History Of Use
- Dating back to 1946-47, this chainsaw was manufactured by Power Machinery Limited in Vancouver, Canada. The serial #D11651 is noted on the original donor information sheet. Power Machinery chainsaws were the first of a long line built in Vancouver and popular until about 1970. Orginally they were not painted and left the aluminum color of the metal. Holes were drilled in the bar to reduce weight.
This saw likely came from donor's brother-in-law, who in turn acquired it from Paul Watson from Quick. Paul is not related to the family that owned the Watson Store. Source: donor's husband.
