- Description
- A leather harness designed to fit over a calf's head. The front piece has two pieces of heavy leather stitched together, folded over rings at each end and riveted. Eleven nails have been driven through the back side, creating a spiked front. A chin strap is attached through the rings. It is closed with a buckle. The side pieces are attached to the rings and end with halter squares. The neck strap is attached to these squares, folded and riveted in place. The neck strap has a knot near one end, and fastened with a snap.

- Leather calf weaner. Weaners such as this one were fitted over the mouth of a calf permitting the calf to graze on grass but preventing the calf from suckling. Pieces to construct this weaner could be found in Marshall-Wells Catalogue 1950, p. 242
