Description: A dark brown, metal cash register (B) attached to a rectangular wooden base (A). The dark brown base includes a wooden drawer. The interior of the drawer is composed of six small, square compartments at the front and three larger rectangular compartments, with triangular springs attached to the back of each, at the back. There is a large spring attached to the exterior back center of the drawer, and a catch with a small spring at the exterior back right corner. The drawer is unlatched by pulling up a brown knob which is fitted in a small, round, silver-colored metal casing on the left side of the base. Pushing down on the knob while keeping the drawer shut latches it. There are 9 numbered white tabbedkeys at the front of the register (0-9). There are two brown tabbed keys at the left and one large rectangular brown tabbed key above. There is one brown tabbed key at the right and one below that has its tab missing (wrapped in black electrical tape). There are three brown tabbed keys at the right top corner next to a broken silver colored metal lever (also wrapped in black electrical tape). There is a long metal lever with a wooden handle attached to the right side. The top of the register has machinery for printing and dispensing tape as well as holders for spools of ribbon and the wide paper tape. The back of the register is a dark brown, rectangular metal plate with "DALTON" in gold script and "CASH REGISTER" and "PATENTED" printed beneath in gold.
