Description
A) Small, upright, cylindrical cardboard container with pull-off lid. Contains original contents. The container is wrapped with paper from top to bottom. The top of the wrapper has been sliced to free the lid. The top and bottom of the container are dark-blue stained cardboard. There is a wide dark blue band around the top (with narrow white bands above) and at the bottom, a white and blue band with "REXALL" multi-printed for design. The front reads "PURETEST" (in script) and "POWDERED PUMICE" "TECHNICAL". "UNITED DRUG CO., LIMITED TORONTO, CANADA" is in white print on a dark blue banner on front and back. The center front has a "GUARANTEE", set in a white oval with a dark blue border featuring "PURETEST" and "THE REXALL DRUG STORES" (both in script) At the right side of the oval is written in pencil: A ?/6/10. The back has information for use and dosage in English and French. At the top is "4 OUNCES" "UC 3063" and "SUBLIMED SULPHUR B.C.". Near the bottom is a tiny blue stamp "2555-058--" B) Round, dark blue cardboard lid. Diam. 6.1cm H 1.2cm
History Of Use
Box of purest powdered pumice. Made by 'UNITED DRUG CO. LIMITED, TORONTO, CANADA'. Contents apparently used for cleaning metal utensils and scouring wood.
